Ecovacs Deebot

Welcome to the future.

No, of course I’m not lazy. I just like doing things efficiently. If that means that I get to have a robot that entertains my cat and simultaneously picks up her hair, sign me up! This little robot is just smart enough to meet my needs. At $229 (sometimes you can catch it on sale- I got it for $179) the Deebot will go to work vacuuming across your hardwood floors and low pile carpets at the touch of one button. But what if you do want to be lazy? Connect it to Alexa if you have the very useful Amazon dot, roll over in bed in the morning and utter a barely-audible “Alexa, tell Deebot to start cleaning” and hit that snooze button.

I was actually surprised at how this vacuum was able to sense objects and walls before it ran into them, and corrected its path automatically. I did notice that every once in a while I should take it apart with a screwdriver and clean a little more deeply (every month or so – feel free to ask me if you have any questions about this). By doing this, the sensors are kept free of debris and I usually do not hear it bumping into things too roughly. The brushed metal look on this robot adds to its elegance and allows it to fit into any home.
